This Privacy Policy explains how Couch Crew™ ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Couch Crew: Games mobile application (the "App"). Questions? Email hello@couchcrewgames.app.
By using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed password. Authentication is provided by Supabase Inc. on our behalf.
You may optionally provide a display name, an avatar emoji, a short favourite quote, and a list of platforms you play on (e.g. PS5, Switch, PC). These are visible to other users of the App.
We store the games you add to your playlist or mark as completed, the personal ratings (0–10) and written reviews you create, your "Top 10" favourites, the friend ("Game Crew") connections you make, the guides you publish or vote on, and the recommendations you send or receive.
If you subscribe to Couch Crew Pro or send a tip, the purchase is processed by Apple. We do not see or store your payment card details. We receive a transaction identifier and subscription status from RevenueCat, which we use to unlock paid features.
The App may automatically collect limited technical information such as your device model, operating system version, app version, and crash logs. This is used solely to fix bugs and improve performance.
If you opt in to push notifications in Settings, we store a unique device identifier (an "Expo Push Token") on our servers so we can send you notifications. The token is tied to your account and your specific device installation and cannot be used to identify you outside the App. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings → Notifications, or revoke them from iOS Settings → Couch Crew: Games → Notifications. When you turn them off we stop sending you push notifications; we retain the token so notifications can resume immediately if you turn them back on.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos (other than an emoji avatar you explicitly pick), microphone or camera input, advertising identifiers, or browsing activity outside the App. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking SDKs that share data across apps.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, playlist, ratings, reviews, top-10, friend connections, and guides within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited information for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the App at Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing hello@couchcrewgames.app.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@couchcrewgames.app. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 30 days).
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Our legal bases for processing are: (a) performance of our contract with you (to provide the App); (b) our legitimate interests (to keep the App secure and improve it); and (c) your consent, where required. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
The App is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 — or from anyone below the higher minimum age set by their country's data-protection law where one applies (for example, some EU member states set this at 14, 15, or 16). If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us at hello@couchcrewgames.app and we will delete it.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and Row-Level Security on the database so users can only access their own data. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our service providers may process your information in the United States or other countries. Where required by law (for example, for EU/UK users), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App or by email at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
