Frequently asked questions

How do I sign up?

Open Couch Crew: Games, tap "Create a free account" on the landing page, enter an email and a password (at least 8 characters), then tap Create account. You'll get a confirmation email โ€” tap the link inside, and you're in.

If the email doesn't show up within a couple of minutes, check your spam folder. If it's still not there, email us and we'll resend manually.

I forgot my password โ€” how do I reset it?

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter the email you signed up with. You'll get a password-reset email within a minute or two. The link inside is single-use and expires after an hour.

How does the Game Crew work?

Each user picks a unique @handle (set yours under Profile โ†’ Account). Search for friends by their handle or display name from the Find Friends button on your profile, send a request, and once they accept you become part of each other's "Game Crew" โ€” you can see each other's Top 10's, playlists, ratings, completed games, and recommendations, and you'll show up in each other's feeds.

Where does the game data come from?

From IGDB, the Internet Game Database (operated by Twitch Interactive). It covers virtually every game ever released across every platform โ€” from arcade and 8-bit eras up to current-gen. Scores, cover art, screenshots, release dates, and platform availability all come from there.

IGDB is excellent but not perfect โ€” sometimes platform availability lags when a game ports, or a remaster lists slightly different platforms than the original. If something looks wrong, let us know and we'll investigate.

My game says it's not on PS5 / Switch / etc., but I know it is โ€” what's going on?

For games with multiple editions, remasters, ports, or "of the year" re-releases, we automatically combine all related platform availability so the badge row reflects everywhere you can actually play that title โ€” including backward-compatible platforms (e.g. a PS4 game shows PS5 too).

If you spot a case where the badges are still wrong, email hello@couchcrewgames.app with the game name and we'll fix the override.

How do I add a game to my playlist?

Tap any game card to open its detail screen, then tap the playlist button under the cover. You'll choose which list to add it to โ€” "Playing now", "Want to play", or "Completed". You can also rate the game (0โ€“10), mark it as a recommendation to send to a friend, or pick which platform you're playing it on.

How does the Top 10 work?

Your Top 10 is the 10 games you'd save in a fire โ€” your all-time favourites. Tap any empty slot on your profile to pick a game (search the full IGDB catalogue, or pick from your completed list). Drag to reorder. Your Top 10 is public on your profile so friends can see what defines your taste.

What does Couch Crew Pro give me?

Couch Crew Pro unlocks unlimited friends and playlist size (free accounts have a cap), custom themes, CSV export of your full library, release-date calendar sync to iOS Calendar for upcoming games on your Want-to-Play list, advanced play stats with genre, platform, and decade breakdowns, and your annual Year-in-Review recap.

There's a free trial, then a small monthly or yearly fee โ€” current pricing is shown in the App at the point of purchase. Cancel anytime from iOS Settings โ†’ Apple ID โ†’ Subscriptions.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

Couch Crew Pro is billed through Apple. To cancel: open the iOS Settings app โ†’ tap your name at the top โ†’ tap Subscriptions โ†’ tap Couch Crew Pro โ†’ tap Cancel Subscription. You'll keep your Pro features until the current billing period ends.

You can also manage subscriptions from inside the App under Profile โ†’ Settings โ†’ Manage Subscription.

I bought Pro on one device โ€” why isn't it active on my other device?

Sign in with the same account on both devices. Pro is tied to your Couch Crew account (via Apple's purchase receipts), so as long as you're signed in, it should follow you across iPhone, iPad, and any future devices. If it's still not unlocking, tap Profile โ†’ Settings โ†’ Restore Purchases to force a refresh.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile โ†’ Settings โ†’ Account โ†’ Delete Account. We'll permanently delete your profile, playlist, ratings, reviews, top-10, friend connections, and recommendations within 30 days. Some limited information may be retained for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes โ€” see our Privacy Policy for details.

If you'd rather just sign out and keep your data, use Profile โ†’ Settings โ†’ Sign Out instead.

The app is acting up. What should I try first?

The fastest fix for most issues:

  1. Force-quit Couch Crew: Games (swipe up from the bottom and swipe up on the app card)
  2. Reopen it
  3. If that doesn't work, sign out and sign back in (Profile โ†’ Settings โ†’ Sign Out)
  4. If still stuck, delete and reinstall โ€” your data lives in the cloud and will come back on sign-in

Is Couch Crew: Games available on Android?

Not yet. We're focused on getting iOS right first. If you'd like Android, drop us a line โ€” we keep a list of folks waiting and you'll be the first to know when it's ready.
